What to Expect at Your Consultation

Please plan on spending approximately an hour with us during your first visit. This will allow sufficient time for us to get to know you and understand your goals for treatment. You will begin your visit by taking some simple photos and x-rays with one of our friendly team members. At Escott Orthodontics, our records include 3-D scans of your teeth that are accurate, comfortable, and allow us to plan your orthodontic treatment without traditional putty molds of your teeth. Using your 3-D scan, we can even prepare a simulation of your treatment result! Dr. Escott will also examine your teeth and facial structures to allow him to prepare treatment recommendations for you. The doctor will then sit down with you in a private consultation to have a conversation with you about your concerns and to review the different types of treatment available to you. Finally, with a plan in place, our treatment coordinator will be able to discuss how our flexible payment plans and/or insurance can be used to make your treatment goals a reality.

Treatment Options

Braces – Dr. Escott uses SureSmile technology to create custom braces for each patient’s treatment. The result is more precise results, shorter treatment length, and fewer visits to the orthodontist. We are able to offer our patients traditional metal or modern clear braces. In addition, we are able to use SureSmile technology to offer lingual braces, which are placed on the inside of the teeth, hidden from view and keeping your orthodontic treatment discreet.  Lean more about braces.

Invisalign and Removable Clear Aligners – Dr. Escott is a leading provider of orthodontic treatment with removable clear aligners including Invisalign. Through advanced training and experience gained by treating hundreds of patients, Dr. Escott is able to successfully treat patients who once thought they could not be treated with Invisalign. In addition, we use state-of-the-art digital scanning to design your aligners, and in-house 3-D printing making your experience even more comfortable and your aligners more accurate than ever before possible. For Our Younger Patients

If you are bringing your young child to their first visit with us, our exam will be focused on identifying any problems with their dentofacial growth pattern. In general, we hope to avoid treatment in young children because it leads to two phases of orthodontic treatment for the child (one at a young age, and another after all permanent teeth erupt). However, if any problems are identified in the dentofacial growth of the child, a brief phase of orthodontic treatment can make a dramatic improvement in the proper development of the teeth, jaws, and face.

It is important to understand that only orthodontic records can identify certain problems in your developing child. For this reason, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children see an orthodontist beginning at age 7. As a service to our community, we offer complimentary initial exams and baseline records for your children. This will help identify any possible problems in your growing child and may help us maximize your child’s benefit from orthodontic treatment in the future.
